So as you guys all know, today was the release of Lord of Shadows (which I managed to snag an early copy of). I just finished re-reading Lady Midnight to remind myself of all the crazy crap that happened in it and oh my. I have just remembered all the feels.
This series is set in the same world as the mortal instruments and has over lapping characters. Some of which we see in a few scenes and are mentioned in others (I love me a crossover).
It follows the story of Julian Blackthorn and Emma Carstairs mainly as they strive to reclaim Julian’s brother from the wild hunt and solve the murder of Emma’s parents. Along the way they discover that perhaps not everyone is as they appear.
So, hopes for Lord of Shadows. Kinda ship Julian and Emma of course, so I’m hoping something will sort out their situation, but I also kinda like her and Mark together aside from it’s ability to ruin Julian.
I also love Christina and Diego and I’m hoping Ty and Kit will become besties (maybe more?) and let me tell you, when Tessa drops that bombshell at the end…I had totally forgotten and went through the whole ‘omg omg omg’ process all over again!
I’m a little mad upon my second reading about how much the adults in the book let down these kids. Julian deals with so much and every time they’ve asked an adult to take over they give some flimsy af excuse. I’m hoping we’ll understand why Diana won’t help more in LoS.
Okay, Annabel. She’s gonna be royally pissed that her ancestors killed her and I’m thinking she’s going to have a vendetta against the Blackthorns and Emma for killing Malcolm. I hope we get to understand more about how she’s back because it’s a bit dubious right now.
I forgot how many funny parts there are in this book and I often found myself chuckling at parts.
The other mystery is of course Clary’s reaction to Jace’s proposal. I feel like maybe she’s pregnant? Either way, I need to know how that turns out.
Well, I’m off to read LoS now, in case you hadn’t already guessed by the changing of the tag line – Lady Midnight/Lord of Shadows is my book of the month.
Have you read Lord of Shadows yet? Stay tuned for my review!
