Directions Violet Semi-Permanent Hair Dye

Hey everyone,

So today my sisters all broke up from school! As it’s summer and my sister is going on camp with the girl guides – she’s dying the tips of her hair purple just for the holidays!

Evie has light blonde hair naturally so we didn’t have to bleach it, the process is quick and easy, just make sure to wear scruffy clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We also split open a carrier bag and draped it around her shoulders to protect the clothes a little more.

Evie washed her hair with her normal shampoo (John Frieda’s Frizz Ease), she parted her hair down the middle and using gloves I spread the purple dye on for her. After that, you let the dye sit for 15 minutes and then wash out.
Here’s the result:

Overall, the colour wasn’t as bright as we expected it to be, and the coverage wasn’t great either – whether this was the dye or my application we’re not sure. Some parts came out quite bright, others a more pastel purple.

Another thing to bear in mind is that it stained so much, which is surprising considering how little of her hair took the colour when it was coated, we’ll definitely have to do a second application. Overall, I’ll be sticking with Schwarzkopf which is much better.

Stay cute!
